A new Yale Youth Poll finds young voters now overwhelmingly disapprove of President Trump’s job performance—a stark shift from their spring 2025 poll.

Kamala Harris won the 2024 votes of respondents aged 18-22, 23-29, and 30-34 by 3, 8, and 12 percentage points, respectively. However, these groups now disapprove of Trump’s job as president by 30, 34, and 36 percentage points, respectively.

He never had them to begin with.

Those margin almost certainly only count those who voted for Trump vs those who voted for Harris, rather than include those who didn’t vote due to despair, disillusionment, or cynicism.

A total accounting of all young voters would show a solid rejection of Trump and Trumpism (as well as a mistrust of Democrats). That their disapproval has grown is not surprising.
