He told us exactly what was going to happen

Trump said his entire campaign he intended to engage in institutional and physical violence against his perceived enemies. The unpreparedness of those we elected to protect and defend the Constitution is beyond appalling, it's obscene.

The proclamations he makes as a king, under the guise of executive orders, are institutional violence, against all people of color, against the poor, against our health and our children's, against any hope for the future for the young.

The physical violence of masked thugs against immigrants and citizens alike becomes a form of psychological violence, for those who watch helplessly believing someone, somehow is going to stop this.

When elected representatives are sprayed, gassed, beaten and abducted, it is reasonable to expect swift and unified action, rapid impeachment and removal.

Much, much more is called for and it doesn't take a political science major to see that in attempting to install an authoritarian autocrat with totally unchecked power, those who are the players in this coup have taken full advantage of the slowness of our institutions to react.

The spread of this malignance actually has gone much further than I can cover in one post, people on DU pay a lot of attention and know the rest.

Here is what they are going to do.

They are saying it openly.

"Attorney General Pam Bondi sent a memo Thursday to all federal prosecutors outlining methods for bringing charges against various entities they accuse of being aligned with antifa.

Bondi’s memo could be the starting point for charges against a number of left-leaning advocacy groups and nonprofits the Trump administration has accused without evidence of having ties to extremists.

.....

These domestic terrorists use violence or the threat of violence to advance political and social agendas, including opposition to law and immigration enforcement; extreme views in favor of mass migration and open borders; adherence to radical gender ideology, anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, or anti-Christianity; support for the overthrow of the United States Government; hostility towards traditional views on family, religion, and morality; and an elevation of violence to achieve policy outcomes, such as political assassinations.”

She also directs the FBI to “disseminate an intelligence bulletin on Antifa and Antifa-aligned anarchist violent extremist groups.”

Bondi’s memo lists a number of possible statutes prosecutors could use to go after groups, including various conspiracy charges, mail and wire fraud and Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) charges."

So, we sit and wait for the knock on the door.

Instututional violence -

"Institutional violence is harm caused by the policies, practices, attitudes, or structures within organizations (like prisons, police, or care homes) that exploit, marginalize, or abuse vulnerable individuals, often through systemic neglect, discriminatory actions, or dehumanizing procedures rather than just individual acts, making it a form of structural violence where harm is built into the system. It can range from poor care in hospitals (institutional abuse) to discriminatory policing or legal systems that fail victims."

So far the courts have responded appropriately to Trump's vindictive overreach. Hopefully, they'll continue doing so.
