US Military told this war will bring about End Times.

Re: US Military told this war will bring about End Times.

The shift toward a religious theocracy has effectively weaponized our military’s core identity. Because zealotry defies rational deterrence, the promotion of apocalyptic rhetoric by high-ranking officials suggests a dangerous trajectory. We are no longer looking at a conventional defense strategy, but a prolonged war orchestrated by unseen architects. The implications are profound.

————

“Since the start of the unprovoked American and Israeli war on Iran, this past Saturday morning, the Military Religious Freedom Foundation has been literally inundated with desperate calls for help from military members across all branches, organizations and MOS/AFSC/SFSC designations (military occupational areas). Well over 100 calls have already come in and more keep coming.

These calls have one damn thing in freaking common; our MRFF clients report the unrestricted euphoria of their commanders and command chains as to how this new “biblically-sanctioned” war is clearly the undeniable sign of the expeditious approach of the fundamentalist Christian “End Times" as vividly described in the New Testament Book of Revelation.

Larsen has been involved in some of the most popular and well thought of programs in TV news. Most notably, as executive producer, he created Up with Chris Hayes, which was recognized by critics across the political spectrum for its smart, substantive engagement with topics other shows wouldnt touch and its inclusion of people and voices seldom heard from. Prior to Up, he worked for many years on Countdown with Keith Olbermann, and also helped launch "Anderson Cooper 360."

and he has a good relationship with MRFF - see eg https://www.militaryreligiousfreedom.org/2024/02/prolific-journalist-jonathan-larsen-takes-a-deep-dive-into-the-cesspit-of-horrific-antisemitic-hate-hurled-at-mikey-weinstein-by-so-called-christians/

But if you think Larsen is completely burning his bridges with an organization he writes for by making up multi-paragraph quotes from its head, then you do you.

But none of them seem to be touching it.

Just one blogger.

But religious fundamentalists still alive when the battles finally end will be sadly disappointed at how the reality turned out very different from what they believed it would be.

"Look, the poor and the unwashed masses are always complaining and demanding stuff. Food, shelter, security, equality, protections under law, honest wages for their labor, etc.

What if we give them an invisible sky-being that is responsible for EVERYTHING?

If we can convince enough of them that their true reward comes in the afterlife, they won't pay attention to how much we're screwing them over in this one."
