2. If not for Trump's pardon, the Biden-bashing, AIPAC-backed, forced-birther Cuellar would very likely be prison bound.

He faced no really effectively funded opposition this time in the primary (nor in 2024, when, despite being indicted by the Biden DoJ after years of investigations, most all of Dem House leadership still endorsed him).

Pelosi and others (like James Clyburn, the DCCC chairperson Cheri Bustos, and Steny Hoyer) also propped him up in 2020 and/or 2022 against a great young Democrat (one who actually supports all of the Democratic platform, unlike Cuellar) in Jessica Cisneros, who barely lost, especially in 2022 when she was defeated by only 281 votes.

4. I knew one of his opponents. He moved from San Antonio to McAllen, just to run in this race.

The Rio Grande Valley does not look kindly on "carpet baggers" from the big city. Henry Cuellar is a local "home town hero"...(Think small town versus big city). Everyone knows his politically connected family. It's small town USA down there.
