Attacking Iran has set off a long chain of events that have already destroyed Dubai's future, and most likely ended US dominance in the world.

Some of you may die, but it's a sacrifice I am willing to make. Lord Farquaad channeled by War-Wizard whoever the net that may be.
Heading to Costco for TP and bottled water.
Good luck, ALL!

(24,006 posts)...He's a Yale grad with a degree in English literature. I read he teaches history in a Beijing high school.
His analysis seems more accurate than any talking head I've seen lately on the CIABCNNBCBSFauxNoiseNutworks. Certainly knows his Asimov.

(37,759 posts)Not really suitable for a short synopsis its so encompassing of the reality of the situation. It has to be watched or maybe a transcript.
You mentioned Asimov, I kept flashing to Herbert.

(12,487 posts)Blame Game going on at the moment. No one would want to be holding this hot potato if the scenario plays out.
Grimmer still?
It's a believable set-up, something Agent Orange would have no capacity to understand because his geopolitical knowledge and experience is Zero. Which is why he's always been a patsy on the world stage, in addition to his long criminal history that compromises everything he touches.
We are so screwed. Can't believe I've lived long enough to witness WWIII. All those tuck and duck exercises in grammar school?
Pointless.

(97 posts)It's just bad Aristotelian logic that begins with an assumption that's often false. Further assumptions are then made, often false, producing a string of assumptions that lead to a ridiculous conclusion.
This won't lead to the end of US dominance; rather this was a reaction of a declining US (more specifically declining dollar dominance amongst BRICS).

(3,196 posts)This video is a sky-is-falling type of thing that assumes the very worst case scenarios. Look at the guy's Wikipedia page - he was supposedly deported from China for suspicion of spying (but) currently based in Beijing? Seems sketch to me at least. I'm not saying this involvement isn't a disaster, but his points about striking water desalination plants, etc., just is over the top. Some may get hit - but if Iran pursues that as a strategy, it really will be completely obliterated - and they know it. He also goes on to overstate the whole Jihad ethos which may come to visit us in the form of terrorism - but won't stop the destruction of their infrastructure. He does touch on petrodollars which is a thing - but the rest of it is just hair-on-fire "predictions."

(12,541 posts)and they all appeared within a few hours. It's fascinating to watch the critiques roll in: that he misspells Greek names. That he mispronounces Greek words. That he's a CCP plant espousing China's opinions (although no one seems to be able to point to anything specific.)
It makes you wonder about the reason behind these seemingly coordinated attacks on him. He's clearly upsetting someone.
