Hegseth only alluded to those killed in the war since it was launched by Trump overnight on Saturday, while attacking the press for reporting on casualties.

about violent death in all its gory detail to try to scare the populace re: "illegal" immigrants? He doesn't like the sight of blood, but he has no problem hearing and speaking about the aftermath of such violence, looking at horrible disfigurement, and discussing violent death as the sadist that he is. Obviously, no one is going to put a bloody body in a coffin without cleaning them up first--even in war time and war zones. But, to the degree he would deign to appear it would be to "get off" on these sadistic discussions, which he would do with shocked but subservient service members--just as soon as the grieving civilians are out of hearing range and sight. Oh, he'd feign sadness and sympathy to the family members to the very unbelievable degree he is capable of doing, but he'd quickly resume his psychopathy when they were out of earshot.
