His sentiments were shared by self-identified ANTIFA member Tyler Charles Gardiner, 29, of Captain Cook, who wore all-black and a face covering and opted to attend the Hilo protest instead of the Kona one because the latter wouldve been too hot.
We fought Nazis back when they took over Germany, Gardiner said, and well fight them here, too.
He said that a sense of empowerment, and a commitment to peaceful protest, motivated him to attend the rally.
I want to oppose Trump in the most peaceful way possible and tell him that we are sick of him and theres more of us than him, and he just needs to go, he said. It feels empowering, and it makes me feel like we are gonna make a difference finally. People are starting to wake up, theyre starting to realize he has lied to us, everything that he has said is not true and just a cover-up for his own terroristic crimes.

(4,687 posts)There is a sense that we cannot go on if we don't join the growing numbers and peacefully protest the current administration.
Our small town in eastern North Carolina held their first "No Kings" sanctioned walk for democracy. We got many supportive
responses from people passing by in cars and on foot. It felt empowering and very positive. The next one will be bigger and
more inspirational

(55,121 posts)They interviewed me and showed me chanting. I'm glad I didn't sound like an idiot. My friend and sister said I sounded experienced and knowledgeable when they saw me.
I am wearing the I hate Fox News t-shirt. My interview isn't on this clip.
Here are my signs (also my anti-tRump earrings that I made amd have worn from 2016--2020 and 2024-now and some of the bumper stickers I made) ..go down to the 16th reply. A kind DUer Progree posted them for me...what a pain it was for him too!

I see you were wearing your earrings
No, creating the DU postable pics wasn't a pain at all. The only one that was more work than the basic was the first one that I decided to rotate and didn't know how right away.
You can post any of these simply by right-clicking on a picture. Up should pop up a little menu with choices, including "Copy Image" and "Copy Image Link"
Click on "Copy Image Link" (NOT on "Copy Image" )
That will put the link in your system's clipboard for later pasting.
Then in any DU post that you are creating or editing, put the mouse in the spot you want to put the picture, and do Control V (or right click and choose "Paste" ).
The above is how I do it on a regular Windows 10 desktop computer. I've never done a tablet and I've never tried to do any of this on my phone.
The same trick works on any picture you see on DU no matter how it was posted (not just Imgur posts).
The "Notes to myself" part in https://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1011&pid=5072
was just to myself in case anyone asked how I did it. Or to myself in the case of the first image which I didn't know how to rotate until I figured it out, and then I didn't do a very good job because it has a lot of white space below with the funny green arrow in the lower right.
Anyway, I knew the "notes to myself" would not be meaningful to most people unless they had experience with Imgur. And only somewhat understandable to people using other posting services. Some people use other posting services, like imgBB, postImg, and many others. Some people use tools other than the Windows Snipping Tool.
