While she indicated to donors that she had no issue with releasing it, Harris has not discussed the postmortem with DNC Chairman Ken Martin and did not know about his decision to keep it under wraps until it happened, this person said.
Like most prospective candidates, Harris is staying involved in political affairs. That includes touring the country, giving speeches to state parties, developing the framework for a policy platform and sounding out fellow Democrats about her next chapter.
Whats unique about Harris is that while she tries to orient toward the future, many in her party are actively fighting over whether to keep examining the flaws of her last campaign.

(3,960 posts)I'm confused as to what degree she personally is aware of what it says. If the only way for her to see it is if it's released publicly, then I understand her preferring for it to happen. If she's seen it all and thinks "none of this looks bad for me", then I also understand.
I suspect that DNC is keeping it under wraps because they think that overall, its public release would not help the party. Personally I'm okay with that, if that is indeed the calculation. DNC isn't obligated to release it in my mind. But Kamala should definitely know what is in it.

If she had spent the last day in Wisconsin, she might of made a difference

(5,893 posts)trying to entice voters who ultimately didn't vote for her and were never going to vote for her, anyway. That time would've been better spent pursuing Latino, Arab, and working class voters. It also turned off a lot of progressive and anti-establishment voters who were on the fence about her, just a fiasco any way you slice it.

(5,509 posts)I'm guessing there's nothing in that autopsy that will address the need for dramatic change well into an age where smart, earnest technocrats working for the common good don't come out on top.
I would have rather heard her roast Trump on the war.

(5,893 posts)People should learn from the mistakes that were made. It'd be insane and colossally irresponsible if they didn't, and that shouldn't be even a little controversial.
