CBS News: Some 54% of Latino voters plan to vote for a Democratic House candidate in November, and 27% plan to vote for a Republican, with 19% undecided, according to the poll of 3,000 registered Latino voters, which was conducted nationally and across 32 competitive congressional districts
That 54% figure lines up exactly with the Democratic share of the Latino vote in the 2024 House elections, according to exit polls that year which is a notable drop from previous cycles. Democrats won 60% of the Latino House vote in 2022, 63% in 2020 and 69% in 2018.

(24,208 posts)Many other polls say, at the very least, a majority of 2024 Latino Trump voters regret their votes, and in many cases, prefer Dems once again, especially young Latinos.
Addendum:
Heres an article that refutes the claims about Latino voters made in the CBS report in the OP:

(133,255 posts)how bad have the ICE raids been. And the warehousing of prisoners. And sending the undocumented to Africa where they know nobody.
Want about the cost of living. Gas prices. Healthcare destruction.
Does nothing move that 19%?

(6,331 posts)kept by Trump. Are you better off now than 2 years ago. Nothing else, no matter how they try to corner and pin you down. Latinos are conservative and dont want to support Trans, etc. they are concerned with pocketbook issues and ICE. Mistreatment of all Latinos.
We need to stay on message.

(15,487 posts)I will vote straight D as I always do, and I am normally pragmatic about things.
But, this shows how rudderless the party is.
They Rs wanted to get latinos, sat down in a room and came up with a plan and went and got them.
Ds should have done the same a years ago to cut back into the margin.

(420 posts)This is a huge problem that needs to get fixed. Our party already takes the Black vote for granted and has done a pretty terrible job of actually earning our vote and sadly they are using the same playbook with Latinos without the built in history of Civil Rights that keeps Black voters loyal. I think that our party needs to double and triple down on policies that will actually benefit the lives of Black and Latino voters. These policies would also help White voters as well but the Trump is a racist How could they vote for Republican stuff that we hear on this forum and others wont work. We have to shore up our base first then focus on Republicans. James wont win without huge Latino turnout.

(35,571 posts)Over the last twenty years or so, there has been a trend
saying Republicans are never bad enough and Dems are
never good enough.
In the meantime, we got this.

(420 posts)I want our side to win elections and given the current makeup of the typical American voter, we have to do more. Simply saying the other guy is bad or assume that just because Republicans are scum that we shouldnt be out there trying to earn every vote isnt enough because if it were, we dont have Trump in office right now. We cant hide our heads in the sand and play the what about game when there is real weakness in our partys ability to keep Black and Latino voters engaged consistently and we have to figure this out now. Other commentators much smarter than me have been sounding the alarm on this issue and that the consultants in our party dont have a pulse or engagement in the communities that we want to reach and are often only showing up occasionally while Republicans are knocking on doors and showing up. For as much of a racist scumbag Trump is him trying to do the platinum plan him talking about HBCU funding (less than Biden provided) and him talking about Black jobs were all incredibly effective. These actions were all performative and I doubt he got meaningful Black support or votes from this, but I cant count how many arguments I had with young Black men at the barbershop that were either going to vote third party or vote for Trump and they would always bring up the things I mentioned. Most of these young men said at least Trump is trying to earn my vote and talking to my issues instead of always running after White rural voters. This is a problem. For whatever reason our side is very hesitant to actively and aggressively court Black and Latino voters with specific agenda items targeting them. We take the rising tides lift all boats approach but that can only get you so far. I wish we would be as aggressive keeping the most loyal part of the base engaged similar to what we do to court other groups.
Work other ways.
Rs invested in Hispanic media and did direct outreach. Find those who might be willing to be good betweens. Talk to them and find common ground.

(1,767 posts)1. They are conservative on religion, marriage, etc. At least on face value. I believe they accept homosexuals etc.
2. They do not like illegal immigrants. Ive said this before and was shouted down, but where I work they mostly have green cards and they support legal entry. They also were the recipients in their communities of a lot of non legal immigrants the last few years that couldnt find work and their local crime rate went up. They as a general principal do not call the police.
