Doctors didn't think Obama or Biden needed one, my dude.

But the rest of the world sees it and laughs.
The US has become pathetic.

(2,205 posts)That a cognitive test is done when youre showing signs of dementiaand that taking them repeatedly is to monitor worsening? Most importantly, that this is NOT something you brag about because its just illustrating how poorly youve done on them...
Seriously, he is the dumbest arsehole to have ever lived. Has he ever had a clue about
ANYTHING?

(12,181 posts)I think that they lied to him to get him to take that previous CT scan too. I can't see him willingly going to have medical testing done.
They probably encourage him to take this cognitive tests because it demonstrates how "smart" he is and how no one can get top scores like he can.
Then when the tests are completed, they feed him a line of bullshit while boosting his fragile ego about how smart he is.
I then believe he repeats on social media what they tell him for his ego boost.
I don't believe that he has any control during this term, they just pretend that he does.

(53,625 posts)That would explain why he keeps going on and on about how he aced the test while pointing out that his predecessors haven't taken the test. In his feeble brain, he wants to believe that is because they aren't as smart as him.
Too bad that his handlers couldn't find a way to keep his mouth shut about the tests. He even did this during his first term in a Fox New interview - "Person, woman, man, camera, TV". He is so easy to flatter, often like a small child.
It is scary trying to figure who IS in control and what all they will do. Meanwhile, they can keep him occupied with talk about the ballroom, the reflecting pond, golden decorations, and his triumphal arch (notice that "triumphal" was the word "Trump" in it?)

A few years ago I had a dementia client and the family wanted them to get up and walk at least once a hour. I wasn't very successful until I discovered that this client was food motivated.
When it got close to lunch time I would ask if they were hungry and the answer was always a positive yes. I would go to the kitchen and pull premade meals out and set all kinds of selections on the counter. I would have them walk to the kitchen to make the selection. I could have just asked and heated up the food, put the food on the plate and brought it to them. Instead, I used food to motivate them to get them up and moving.
Trump is too far gone to realize that his bragging rights on his "tests" isn't the flex that he thinks it is. I can't figure out any other reason why someone would brag about acing cognitive tests except someone using tricks on him and insisting that this will prove that he's a genius.
He literally bragged about passing his CT scan.
A person doesn't pass a CT scan, so someone has to convince him to do stuff one way or another and then feed his ego.

(5,669 posts)When Trump insulted Rex Tillerson's intelligence, MENSA offered to monitor an IQ test for Trump.
Donald was smart enough to not accept their offer.

Trump accidentally called Gavin Newsom "the president of the United States" whilst he was insulting his intelligence.

(38,837 posts)Anyone with a modicum of cognitive abilities will get 100%, or close to it.
BUT - assessing cognitive abilities is a required part of every annual exam under Medicare, and most doctors doing eldercare follow the Medicare guidelines even if the patient isn't on Medicare. An assessment isn't made because of signs of dementia - it is just part of care once you hit Medicare age, as part of an overall statutory plan to make sure doctors aren't ignoring signs of dementia.
The assessment doesn't have to be made using a test - so most people aren't even aware they are being assessed. But if the doctor chooses to use a test (rather than just make an assessment based on interactions during the visit), the MOCA test is the one most frequently used
And the test is just a screening test. It does not measure progress (aside form gross changes). (My spouse, who has been on two dementia medications for at least a decade, scores 100% on the exam.)
