I know this subject has been talked about ad nauseum, but one reason I hate contributing to campaigns is the inevitable flood of fundraising emails, en masse, that will flood my inbox. Worse they are always predicting catastrophic events if you dont send more money RIGHT NOW. It is non stop and so formulaic. Do these PACS really think people respond to these emails? Or do people, like me, scramble to put them in SPAM and become reluctant to donate again?
There is enough anxiety in this world that poeple dont need more. And I get sick of the obvious attempts to manipulate by stoking fear. Just let me donate without BLASTING me with spam for every Democratic race in the entire country.

(2,109 posts)Um, thanks for such a polite reply to a legitimate concern about the VOLUME and subject line of these emails. I dont read them, but there is such a thing as a subject line
you know, that thing that gives you an idea what the email is about so you know its spam?
Ive have heard many people say I dont donate because I dont want to get on a list. We can sit here an argue that this is not a good reason, but the fact remains that it is a common reason people are hesitant to donate.
Maybe on the donation page have an opt out for emails? Since the majority are coming from ACT BLUE, it would seem an easy thing to do.
Those who take the time to donate are usually the type who keep up with politics and know about critical races. Let people opt out and maybe youll see donations go up, not down.
