Israel awoke to a frightening new reality on Thursday as it absorbed, with disbelief and largely in silence, the terms of President Trumps agreement to end the war with Iran.
It is a disastrous deal from Israels point of view, analysts said, because it accomplishes none of Israels war aims and arguably leaves the country in worse shape on each of them.
Its a bad agreement in which the Americans are paying with cash, and got, at the maximum, a letter of intent, Yaakov Amidror, a hawkish former national security adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, said in an interview.
David Horovitz, the editor of The Times of Israel, called it a catastrophic capitulation, in the headline of a lengthy opinion column.

I really DON'T GIVE A SHIT that Trump's bad deal leaves them in a worse position than when they started--
(like the U.S. and most of the rest of the world!)
In fact, I'm GLAD that it would make things WORSE for them!!!!
(maybe THAT will teach them not to help to wage or encourage needless wars---
but I doubt it!)

(24,571 posts)They backed the wrong horse, they should have known Trump doesn't have a spine.
And maybe Iran uses the windfall they are getting to build up their military to have a more even power balance in the region so Israel will be forced to negotiate peace. As it is now, Israel enjoys such a power advantage they have zero incentive for peace when they can just bomb their neighbors endlessly with little fear of impactful retaliation. Because how it is right now certainly will never lead to peace.
