General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI remember reading a few months back that the Iranians had said Trump needs to quit sending his real estate golf buddies
who know nothing about the subject and and send some people who know what they are talking about to negotiate. I don't remember where i read it, but I do remember clearly "real estate golf buddies." It occurred to me that sending people who are so obviously highly inept is a major insult to the Iranians and would be perceived as highly disrespectful, as it was.
Contrast with Obama....

to stay in power.
Since they get off on war and killing, it's a win win
for them, even if it means lose lose on the negotiation'
front.

(25,967 posts)It has been reported that Iranian negotiators object to being in the same room with Jared.
Add in the threats and the willy-nilly demands of our Commander-in-Chief.
You couldn't fuck this up worse if you tried.

And were also seemingly oblivious to other technical basics critical to any negotiation.
I think it was an Al Jazeera report, but am not sure. It was around the same time I heard the "golf buddies" comment reported.

(11,538 posts)frustration over the American negotiators not understanding basics. And it probably was Al Jazeera where I read it. Not the kind of thing you'd expect from American media.

(832 posts)to negotiate with Iran, Israel's mortal enemy, was probably not the smartest idea. Never mind that Netanyahu once slept in Jared Kuschner's childhood bedroom in the 90's when he visited the U.S.

The only way to get Israel to stop is to threaten to cut off U.S. arms shipments, and to follow through on that threat if they keep bombing.

(25,209 posts)He knows nothing of negotiating strategy, mideast history & politics, science & technology nor geography. His flunkies are equally incompetent, incurious and ignorant. They do not know anything about the issues. How could they since they don't have the background and knowledge required for such complex discussions?
Sending two Jews to "negotiate" with Muslims demonstrates rudeness, religious ignorance and unserious intentions. The Iranians are justified in their disgust with Trump & Co.
Trump lost his war so it's pretty rich that he is trying to set terms. Pathetic.
Trump is a loser.
