(2,501 posts)So much dead air. 😴💤🛌
But, he certainly does get excited and animated when he reads the news. He's quite happy and excited, isn't he?

(2,501 posts)Is he doing a "better job" than I could do as a one-person operation... certainly. But in the end, it is the definition of amateur night.
Aside from the dull format ... just a close-up of a guy reading headlines over a loud, clicking keyboard. As he reads sentence fragments with no context, bits of other comments in the live stream, or a how his unfiltered observational words escape his mouth (also with no context) it's more frustrating than informative.
Also, considering his apparent delight when reading the breaking news about Graham... although it mirrors my own personal delight too... it's a departure from the "Agenda Free" label they chose for themselves. Whether it was nervous energy or something else, it was shockingly unprofessional and a prime example of why these unedited solo streams can't match real journalism.

(2,501 posts)But in all seriousness, this is just a forum where people ofetn evaluate news sources. There's really no need for the hostility, and definitely no need to take my critique of a YouTuber so personally.
I was just sharing a my honest observations and opinions of a public news broadcast. We dont have to agree on the format, but we can definitely keep the conversation civil, can't we? Let's try to keep it friendly in the future.

(11,370 posts)Which is more and more popular, generally with a younger crowd. Replace the politics with someone playing a video game, and you have more or less the same content. They're doing their thing and yapping at their chat. People form parasocial relationships with these streamers and get a sense of companionship and real time feedback via the chat, so it's basically almost like having a friend around where you're both kind of doing your own thing but keeping each other company.
Some streamers are more interesting than others.
I couldn't imagine watching this, but Twitch, Kick, and the rest are an entire thing nowadays.
And hey, even though watching streamers isn't my cup of tea, at least it's not an AI companion.
Editing to say: The thing is, you don't see the chat in the clips, so that isn't the full experience of this guy's content. The chats often form little communities and are talking with each other the entire time. Note he mentions chat was talking about it before he saw the news.
