(5,254 posts)... and saving a seat for the orange-faced object of his worship. If Beelzebub would get off his ass and call his boy home, Lindsey's idol will be joining him soon. Today would be nice.
And if McTurtle is already there, it'll be "RUB-A-DUB-DUB, THREE MEN IN A TUB, the butcher, the faker, the dirty deal maker..." or finish this rhyme to your liking.

(622 posts)Originally Graham turned against Trump over January 6th but within days had changed his mind. It was suggested that it was well known that Graham was gay but that Trump (beginning in 2016) blackmailed Graham and threatened to out him to voters (the GOP knew but didn't care) if he went against Trump, but since Graham wanted to get re-elected he gave in to the blackmail. Trump is a thug and these are the kinds of things he does. I expect that soon this will all come out.

(115,463 posts)that defended this horror. I am now and always will be so grateful for him speaking out and calling them on their bullshit. He and his other officers will be desperately needed to let us ensure the truth is remembered, despite Trump and his officially propagated lies.
As often is the case, even the Dems who have spoken out on Graham today have whitewashed everything. I get that he may not have been the worst of the worst among the Trumpists in Congress, but that is like differentiating between two evil clones. I credit Graham for ONCE having a functional moral core (as in his time with McCain), but boy did that disappear on January 6, 2021--or at least shortly thereafter. Afterward there is but ONE thing (important, yes) that I will credit him with. And that is holding the line against Putin in support of Zelensky and Ukraine. Beyond that, the scales of justice are most certainly anything BUT balanced. If there is a hell--perhaps of his own making--he has one hell of a lot to answer to.
For his continued counter to Trump's attempts to let Putin destroy Ukraine, I will give a nod and
For the rest... most certainly NOT. Graham, you destroyed what could have been a very positive legacy and to the Dems feeling the need to pretend as though he did not, your words are ill conceived and undeserved.

(18,073 posts)I don't like speaking ill of the dead. After all, they are not here to defend themselves any longer. But this is what it's come to. It is the reality of the world we are living in right now, and none of this was OUR choosing.
There was a time not too long ago when, if someone passed that you didn't like or had issues with, etc., you just didn't say anything. Those times are over because there's so much anger and angst and hurt and strife right now that people have to let their feelings out. They are being honest. There is nothing in Fanone's statement that is false. He has a right to say what he said.
The real issue has become that anyone who stays silent is deemed to be complicit, and that sure doesn't work in these times either.
I'm sure I'm not explaining myself very well here, but I hope you can understand. I will not condemn anyone for speaking the truth and for saying what they feel they need to say. But I long for a time (again) when we don't feel like we absolutely HAVE to say something negative when someone dies. We may never see that again. I don't know...
