Okay, Bama folks, where are you?

I'm going back home for a week or so this Xmas. If I have time, I'd love to meet with y'all.

I hope none of your family members were victims of the tornadoes.

Nice to see you.

they're in Deatsville, Demopolis, and Covington County.

My mom is considering moving to Tuscaloosa, and was actually going to head up there house hunting that weekend. Yikes!

my brother in law is from Demopolis. Small world, but I wouldn't want to paint it.

I loved the pine trees and how all of us kids had so much freedom to play in woods and creeks. We were even allowed to climb the fire tower, where we could see the tops of the trees for what seemed like miles. I remember the guy in the tower saying that spring was his favorite time to look at the trees because there were so many colors of green.

Now I live 6 miles from the Pacific Ocean in California. It's beautiful here too, but today's parents are so aware of potential real dangers that they can't in good conscience allow their kids the freedom that kids of my generation had.
