Moulton runoff elections lead to second runoff, mayoral shake-up

MOULTON, Ala. (WHNT) — Tuesday’s runoff elections in Moulton led to a shake-up in the mayor’s office, along with a somewhat unlikely result in District 1, a second runoff election.

Moulton Mayor Roger Weatherwax fell to challenger Ryan Jolly with only 274 votes to Jolly’s 384, according to unofficial results.

Weatherwax, who was first elected in 2016, went to a runoff with Jolly after neither emerged from a crowded field with the necessary votes to win on Aug. 26.

Jolly, a flight paramedic and former Moulton Fire Chief, said he wanted to prioritize infrastructure, long-term planning and transparency if elected.
