Just glanced through the INFOSEC and OPSEC material from 50501. These are good tips for everybody these days anyway, whether participating in protests or not.

I’m amazed at how many people I know have almost no interest in online privacy or information security. (“VPN? Pfft. All my information is already out there anyway, and besides, I have nothing to hide.”)

In this era, it pays to take the extra effort to secure our personal data and cover our tracks if we want to avoid snooping and cross-referencing by corporations and government entities. I’ve tried to be conscious of this as a matter of course for years, but I can always learn more — and the landscape keeps shifting.
