Vance discusses Elon Musk's 'mistakes' and 'incremental progress' on the economy in NBC News interview

WASHINGTON — Vice President JD Vance acknowledged Friday that Elon Musk has made “mistakes” while executing mass firings of federal employees and emphasized that he believes there are “a lot of good people who work in the government.”

“Elon himself has said that sometimes you do something, you make a mistake, and then you undo the mistake. I’m accepting of mistakes,” Vance said in an interview with NBC News.

“I also think you have to quickly correct those mistakes. But I’m also very aware of the fact that there are a lot of good people who work in the government — a lot of people who are doing a very good job. And we want to try to preserve as much of what works in government as possible, while eliminating what doesn’t work.”

Vance’s gentler tone represented a contrast from the chainsaw approach that Musk, the world’s wealthiest man, has taken as he leads President Donald Trump’s initiative to slash federal spending and reorient the federal bureaucracy. The firings of thousands of government employees has been the centerpiece of Musk’s work over the first seven weeks of Trump’s second White House administration, with the cuts yielding lawsuits and pushback from judges. Musk has broadly characterized federal workers as "fraudsters" who can’t be trusted to do their jobs.

He does not care about the US or the federal workforce one bit.

He is totally self serving.

Did the booing at the Kennedy Center get to him?

What you call a mistake in Leon's case is purposely lying about poor performance across the board about hard working good people to justify firing them by the thousands and shuttering Departments and listing Government Buildings for sale like they're his personal property. Or him giving kids in his employ directions and authorization to seek and destroy Gov't systems but not before capturing highly sensitive information on US citizens. All for the sake of greed and vengeance on a Country that he resents for helping to end the racist Apartheid Gov't from which he heils from. But sure JD blame the protesters for pointing out all of the failings that you are now tied to.
Do your wife and children a favor, send them away. Don't make them bare witness to your behavior. You're so upset about the true hero and genuine leader of his people and for his people in the oval office that day that would not bow down and kiss the ring that you so enthusiastically do on a daily basis, President Zelensky.
You are the Felon's court jester, so happy his lordship was pleased with your silly shamrock socks. Once a true critic of the little Felon, you have become a joke. You will be subject to boos and ridicule in lieu of the actual target of the public's venom. You'll do, for now. You are his Quasimodo, a sad, possibly misunderstood character, but indeed deserving of ridicule and scorn. Not to worry there are so many characters within this administration that are equally deserving that there will be an abundance of ridicule and scorn to go around. And the numbers will only grow as the morons that voted for this mess realize their mistake. The same people that stormed the "tower" to take down Pence will turn on you.
