GOP Lawmaker Chuckles and Claps as She's Hit With Boos at Town Hall Over Musk Support

Source: MEDIAite

Mar 20th, 2025, 8:43 am

A Republican congresswoman turned to laughing and clapping in response to a fiery town hall crowd booing her over her support of Elon Musk. At a town hall in Laramie, Wyoming, Rep. Harriet Hageman (R-WY) was booed multiple times even as she tried calming the crowd.

As she tried to tell the audience that town halls are an opportunity to tell constituents what she’s up to in Washington, D.C., one heckler yelled out, “Nothing!” “I get it that there are people here who dislike me, but there are also people here who want to hear what I have to say,” the lawmaker said to a mix of boos and cheers.

About 75% of the crowd of approximately 500 at the civic center were there to oppose Hagemen, according to a local report by Cowboy State Daily.

Hageman later smiled as she was booed for mentioning her support of a continuing resolution to keep the federal government funded. As Hageman said, she voted to “keep the lights on” for President Donald Trump, DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency), and Elon Musk. After name-dropping Musk, the booing became so loud that Hageman stopped talking for a moment to clap along with the noise.

that if you aspire to become a politician, you go to the smallest piss ant state in the Union, and run for the U.S. House, as a Republican.
Actually, that is True for Any Political office, in a number of states with minuscule populations....Kristi Noem, comes to mind.....

In the 3 statewide elections in 2024 in Wyoming (President, Senator & House), the Republicans won by between 124,000 to 136,000 votes. To ensure winning elections in Wyoming, the Democrats would likely need about 200,000 new residents there.

Obama won Florida. Now there are 1.2 million more Republicans than Dems registered in FL.
Look at Colorado. In the 80s it was reliably red. Now? It has moved from Purple to Blue with all of the Californians that moved there. If Dems can move to those flyover states, it could have huge implications for the Senate and the White House.

Esp on the front range from Denver North.
There are TONs of California plates on the road, only exceeded by Florida and Texas Plates.........

Most interesting is that the Colorado State Patrol has commented on the increase in Road Rage since the election.
The National Traffic Safety people have agreed, and stated that the greatest Road Rage in the nation is evidenced on I-25 from Denver North.
The feds have also said that the greatest number of reported gun crimes in the U.S. is from the Metro Denver Area and North.....

My son is so alarmed at what we are seeing, that he has forbid his teenager kids from driving on any highway due to crazy motorists.

When I was going to and from college (UMASS/Amherst) from Philly, I used either Trailways (and Peter Pan) bus or Amtrak. The bus was actually easier as they had a stop right on campus across the street from my dorm area. The train was faster though (for obvious reasons of not having all the stops the bus would have).

Imagine thinking it’s appropriate to clap when the audience is booing you!!

I was surprised when I heard the depth of anger, the scorn, the disgust, in the voices.

Wow, these assholes have gotten the country in such a rage that they will never climb out.

I am loving it.

Let me tell you a couple of things they got wrong. The Griffon Theater at the civic center holds 800 people. It was packed. There were people lining the walls, standing four and five deep in the back, and spilling out into the hallway, My estimate is around 1,000. I think there were about two dozen of her supporters there out of 1,000. Hageman didn't schedule a town hall in Cheyenne, the Capitol city, so people came from there to Laramie. She said something that made my blood boil the most. When someone asked her what she was doing to protect the rights of the LGBTQ+ community, she said,"I don't know what you're talking about. " I have a trans grandson. Hagerman damn well knows what the person was talking about! It was like a volcanic explosion when she said DOGE was "Brilliant."
