JUST IN: Republican Quits House Freedom Caucus In Protest of Colleagues Killing Bill to Help New Mothers

Source: MEDIAite

Mar 31st, 2025, 4:32 pm

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) resigned from the House Freedom Caucus on Monday after the group moved to block a vote on her proposal to let new mothers and fathers in the House vote by proxy instead of needing to travel with newborns.

“For several years, I have stood shoulder to shoulder with you, from the speaker’s fight — where I was one of only 20 — to numerous efforts aimed at bringing the institutional change Washington so desperately needs.

My goal has always been to work alongside like-minded individuals committed to fighting for the American people and delivering on the promises President Trump campaigned on. I have consistently supported each of you, even in moments of disagreement, honoring the mutual respect that has guided our caucus,” Luna wrote in a letter addressed to the caucus.

“That respect, however, was shattered last week. Acting within the House conference rules — rules we all agreed to — I sought to bring a vote to the floor on a measure that would allow new mothers in Congress (fewer than 14 in our nation’s history) and fathers, if they choose, to vote by proxy.

but otherwise horrible. Freedom Caucus includes people like Jim Jordan, Scott Perry, Paul Gosar, Andy Biggs, Byron Donalds, Chip Roy, Andy Ogles & Lauren Boebert (among others). This is who she was happy to be associated with until they refused to support her on an issue that I'm sure the public at large would support overwhelmingly.

It has been a good issue that has worked for them for a long time, but these people have no real values. They'll do or say anything to get elected and stay in office.

that her fellow GOP loons got rid of when they took the House back, and after Nancy Pelosi had spearheaded it as a Rule during the pandemic (for any reason) when Democrats were in charge.

Her party told her and any pregnant Congress member, to go pound sand.

But no, what has her pissed off? It had nothing to do with any constituents or any effort to improve anybody's life -- EXCEPT FOR HER OWN. The creature is upset because they didn't back her in an effort to carve out a PERSONAL PRIVILEGE for herself.

Don't get me wrong. In today's world, it is certainly possible to use technology that makes remove voting 100% safe and accountable. But there is also merit in having a congressional body meet in person to debate and advocate -- that's what legislative bodies are supposed to do. There must be some cases where it would be good for everyone to be able to cast votes on technical, procedural matters without having to rush to the floor. But that has nothing to do with this creature's complaint.

Once again, Republicans prove they don't give a shit about anything unless it impacts them directly.

This is a single issue she wishes to use to further her political career.
She is in no way an "ally".

Anna Luna is as abjectly depraved as each and every other member of the ongoing criminal fascist enterprise that is the GOP.

There is no such thing as a "good" fascist.
There is no such thing as a "moral" fascist.

This is that.
