Hooters files for bankruptcy

Source: ABC 7

NEW YORK -- Hooters - the restaurant chain first known for its orange-clad, all-female wait staff and then its chicken wings - filed for bankruptcy, the company announced Monday. But the decades-old brand said it isn't going anywhere.

In the bankruptcy process, the company plans to sell all of its 100 company-owned restaurants to two franchisee groups that operate Hooters locations in the Tampa, Florida, and Chicago areas. The combined group collectively operates a third of the US franchised-owned locations, according to the press release.

Hooters joins other fast-casual restaurants, such as BurgerFi and Red Lobster, which filed for bankruptcy amid rough business conditions. The company's workforce has also come under fire, with lawsuits ranging from racial discrimination to gender discrimination. Hooters closed dozens of restaurants last year, blaming rising food and labor costs.

The company said it plans to exit Chapter 11 bankruptcy in "approximately 90-120 days."

but I bet if you ask any one of those morons who say that or post such memes on their socials when the last time they went to that chain, the overwhelming majority won't answer honestly (i.e. a long fucking time, if ever).

Don't have the data to back it up, but I'd like to think it wasn't just inflation, but the women's market that made it happen.

Maybe a after work beer and dinner or a place to go watch a game. Strip clubs are still the go to stop for bachelor parties in my experience. Though places like Top Golf are growing in popularity for them.

https://www.freep.com/story/news/local/michigan/2016/10/27/michigan-bachelor-adopt-stray-puppies/92864692/

"A group of men from Michigan have returned from a bachelor party in Tennessee with a stray dog and her litter of puppies in tow.

Groom-to-be Mitchel Craddock and his friends were on a five-day trip at a cabin in the woods when a stray dog approached their front door, MLive reported. The dog, they named Annie, wolfed down food and water the men gave her.

"We were cooking bacon with the door open. The next thing you know, there's this dog sitting right at the front door. She wouldn't come inside, but she sat right there," said Craddock.

Eventually the men noticed that Annie was producing milk, Craddock said. They found her seven puppies in a den down the road from the cabin.
....
Each of the men took one of the puppies, whom they named Brimmie, Rosie, Daisy, Knox, Gunner, Bear and Finn. Craddock's grandparents took the mother as well as a puppy."....(more)

crazed religious fanatics here. Same bitching, same bunch earlier in1987 when the Lottery started. Yeah they just knew the whole State would collapse and go bankrupt as everyone spend their last buck on it.

We still have the Lottery which has given the State over $2B since 1987, but Hooters was gone years ago. Twin Peaks survives.

It is a vile concept for a restaurant. It reminds me of what many Nevada casinos required their cocktail servers to wear years ago--it was just disgusting to treat these hardworking women that way.

There is no excuse whatsoever of sexing up an establishment.
