ICC Appeals Court reverses lower court in favor of Israel

Source: Jerusalem Post

The Appeals Chamber of the International Criminal Court on Thursday reversed the November 2024 ruling of the ICC lower court against Israel's jurisdictional objections to the issuing of arrest warrants against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and then Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.

The decision sends the jurisdictional fight back to the ICC lower court to more fully explore Israel's jurisdictional objections to the arrest warrants and to the ICC's intervention into Israel's conduct of the current war in Gaza more generally.

"The decision of the Appeals Chamber of the International Criminal Court in The Hague to order a hearing on Israel's claims that the court lacks jurisdiction to deal with the issue at hand illustrates the injustice done to Prime Minister Netanyahu and the former Minister of Defense, when the court issued ridiculous orders without having the authority to do so," sources close to the prime minister said.

According to the ICC Appeals Court, "Israel’s challenge to the jurisdiction of the Court pursuant to article 19(2) of the Statute should not have been dismissed as premature.

It absolutely didn't make sense to only pay off or threaten w/harm just the chief prosecutor, the one person who had the option and the power to not investigate the accusation in the first place, or bribe/threaten the three judges of the pre-trial chamber of ICC. It only made sense to bribe the five judges of the Appeals Chamber.

Sounds logical, no?

Why was he issued an arrest warrant? Also, I would not surprised if Trump paid a lot of money to the ICC, bribery-style. Something seems very suspicious about this.

Something that seems, depending on your slant, very suspicious, or absolutely inseparable from administering justice.

Tell this to the legal professionals whose actions and ethics are bound by due process of law. They will appreciate the joke.

After all, this was a decision of the ICC Appeals Chamber, not Israel.

How do you propose one has to do with the other?
