Trump's border czar says he's sending National Guard to fight LA anti-ICE protests as clashes continue into second day

Source: Independent

President Donald Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, said he plans to send the National Guard to Los Angeles to combat protests against ICE that began this weekend following immigration raids in the city.

“We are making Los Angeles safer. Mayor Bass should be thanking us. She says they are going to mobilize—guess what? We are already mobilizing. We are going to bring the National Guard in tonight,” Homan told Fox News.

His comments come after Senior White House adviser Stephen Miller railed against the protests, calling them an “insurrection” against the United States.

Sadly, even without any protests anywhere, the Chickenhawk in Chief will find his parade did not give him the high he seeks. No joy no matter what because he is terminally mentally deficient and soulless. No matter what he makes happen, his father still never loved him and thinks he's a LOSER.

The problem is him, not us, but he will destroy us in his effort to feel better.

And yes. Trump's parade must be protected at all costs.

Yes there is nothing that will fill the hole in Trump's soul.

He is a deeply damaged and mentally ill person.

for "border security," hurricanes etc. I agree, L.A. is not on the border.
Has a federal emergency been declared? We know Miller thinks the protests are an "insurrection."
The goons have been pushing for this. Are they going to escalate so that when Trump comes back to work on Monday he'll be ready to declare martial law?

That would mean there would be NO rights granted under the Bill of Rights.

Which translates that NO GUN OWNERSHIP allowed! I bet the lovers of the 2nd Amendment did not think that one out. More guns among the civilian population than Law Enforcement and the Military combined.

The Border Patrol has jurisdiction up to 100 miles from any US border, including maritime borders.

This means that two out of three people fall under its jurisdiction.

That covers about 2/3 of the US population.

https://ibb.co/Tx7K3MSQ Sorry, image won't post for me today. Click the link and see just how bad things have been for years

Edited to add so you all understand we have not had our full rights for some time now:

The U.S. Border Enforcement Zone extends 100 miles into the interior from any land or maritime border, where Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has the authority to conduct searches and detain individuals without a warrant or reasonable suspicion. This zone encompasses a significant portion of the U.S. population, including major cities, and is often subject to increased law enforcement scrutiny.

We are subject to stops/inspections within these areas. Been going on for decades where I live. And the fascists are planning to make it a 200 mile wide zone all around the nation.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2025/06/07/la-ice-arrests-protests-national-gaurd/

President Donald Trump on Saturday ordered the California National Guard to Los Angeles to intervene in protests of immigration sweeps, a move condemned by California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D). The White House move to activate the National Guard marks a major escalation of immigration enforcement hostilities, in what the president has promised will be the largest-scale deportation operation in history. The protests began after federal immigration officials began sweeps in Los Angeles County on Friday, including in the fashion district downtown.

They are under dual state and federal authority under normal circumstances. But the president can always activate them as reserve units of the regular US Army and Air Force. Then the state governor has no control.

The DC national guard is always under federal control. They can be deployed anywhere for law enforcement during protests.

was the Little Rock High integration crises in 1957. That was necessary only because Gov. Faubus had sent in the Arkansas Guard to thwart the enforcement of Brown v. Board. President Eisenhower federalized the Arkansas Guard and reversed its mission.

President Eisenhower federalized the Arkansas National Guard to take them out of the picture. He then sent in 1,000 federal 101st Airborne troops to escort the black students to class.

"With Executive Order 10730, the President placed the Arkansas National Guard under federal control and sent 1,000 U.S. Army paratroopers from the 101st Airborne Division to assist them in restoring order in Little Rock."

https://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local/trump-sending-national-guard-to-la-in-response-to-anti-ice-protests/3718088/]

After the Department of Homeland Security’s widespread and public crackdown on Los Angeles’ immigration communities this week, federal officials were mobilizing some 2,000 National Guard soldiers to response to protests.

The White House confirmed Saturday that President Donald Trump has signed a directive to deploy 2,000 National Guardsmen to address "the lawlessness."

"The Trump Administration has a zero tolerance policy for criminal behavior and violence, especially when that violence is aimed at law enforcement officers trying to do their jobs," White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement.
