NYC's Mamdani says 'Globalize the intifada' and 'From the river to the sea' show 'desire for Palestinian rights'

Source: Times of Israel

New York State Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani, a leading progressive in the city’s mayoral primary race, dodges the opportunity to condemn the phrases “globalize the intifada” and “from the river to the sea,” saying they are an expression of a desire for Palestinian rights.

In an interview with the Bulwark podcast, Mamdani says that he is “less comfortable with the idea of banning the use of certain words.”

He is then asked specifically about the phrases “Globalize the intifada” and “From the river to the sea.”

“I know people for whom those things mean very different things,” Mamdani says. “To me, what I hear from so many, is a desperate desire for equality and equal rights in standing up for Palestinian human rights.”

Should be asking him "Since everyone else thinks Israel is great, why don't we have the same healthcare system as them?" ck4829 Jun 18 #1

What's with this antisemitism of preferring early deaths and bankruptcies over having the same kind of healthcare system as Israel?

Israel's up there, we're down here. Are our lawmakers and healthcare system purposefully avoiding Israel?

H could have said people may have different views on the meaning of those words, but we need to educate them on their historical meaning, if they want to express a different view, choose different words and phrases.

He's an anti-Jewish asshole.

"From the river to the sea" means only one thing. Total annihilation of Israel.

"Globalize the Intifada is a slogan that has been used for advocating for global activism in support of Palestinian resistance against Israeli occupation"

When i google the second phrase, I get this:

"From the river to the sea" is a political slogan that refers to the area between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea – an area historically known as Palestine, which was formerly British"

Not really seeing how it's racism, based on these results.

However, with the barrage of ads against him, the (rather accurate) "socialist" label -along with every attack imaginable with billions being spent to derail his bid, I conclude this:

If he wins, it will be almsot 100% a result of his endorsement by AOC. Regardless of how he is as mayor, AOCs influence to the degree of bringing together a broad coalition for a virtually unknown pro-Palestinian, Muslim-socialist in New York City, would be:

I contend it is further evidence of her vast potential as a presidential candidate.
