snip-"Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., is running for governor, she announced Wednesday, promising to help her state be "Americas conservative leader" for generations to come.
Blackburn, who would be the states first female governor if she wins, leaned heavily on her support for President Donald Trump in a short video posted to X announcing her campaign. The first images in the video are of the president, before Blackburn takes over to declare: "Trump is back, America is blessed, and Tennessee better than ever."
snip-"The state's current governor, Bill Lee, cannot run again due to term limits.
snip-"If Blackburn were to win, she would have to vacate her seat to which she was re-elected in November. As governor, she would have the ability to appoint her temporary successor before a special election to fill the seat.

(15,008 posts)These people have had 2 chances to get her out of the senate since we moved here. The first one was someone we actually knew. He's a good person. But he had a D beside his name. I had hopes last year, but really Tennesseans are too fucking stupid to realize what a monster Blackburn is. They complain about lack of healthcare, etc., but just don't see the connection.
Even the less deplorable among them vote for whatever R is running, without having the slightest idea exactly what they're voting for. All they know is that Democrats are evil and Republicans are godly. It's what they've been taught from day one, all evidence to the contrary, and there is not one thing that will change their minds.

(15,008 posts)I don't think anyone has declared yet. Jerri Greene (Memphis City Councilwoman) might run, but she has no name recognition.
Rs run unopposed in SO many elections here. I usually write in a friend rather than risk someone blackening my ballot by hand with an R vote I didn't want. Even if someone does run against the monster, they will have an uphill battle.

(11,976 posts)She is a ridiculous woman parroting whatever pedo Trump says. I bet she would even help him find more little girls to diddle if the pedo asked her.
She comes across as a dumb blonde. I don't know why any democracy loving American would vote for her.
But if trends hold, Tennessee will vote in the man over any woman, even Marsha the pedo Trump political copycat. In Tennessee, we have many pedo Trump political copycats, mostly white men. It's because of all the cult-like Southern Baptists here.
