1. Those civil war amendment aren't original enough...

The 'originalists' will pretzel logic a way to approve this.

Then they will approve ways to make it nearly impossible for women to vote because many of them, including the hand maiden , hate the 19th amendment as well. For example by approving laws that require birth certificate name to match drivers license name. So, if a woman took her husband's name, then her license and birth certificate will not match. Plus forcing people to pay for copies of birth certificate is a good obstacle to keeping poor people from voting as well.

Uppity blacks and women do not deserve to vote according to them.

If you gerrymandered it just right, you could get black votes to equal 3/5 of a white vote.

2. They aren't getting rid of those amendments

3. Forcing people to get all new paperwork is idiotic.

For example. I have my Social Security card. It is the one I was given when I was 12 years old. It is perfectly legible and in good shape.

I did laminate it way back when because it would last longer and there were no restrictions on doing that to the card at the time.

Now, however, I keep being told I have to get an other one. It is nothing but a money grab. It will always be so. Unless that paper they want you to change is damaged or out of date for some reason (which my card is not, it looks the same as the newer ones, with the exception of the blue color is slightly different shade),it should be fine. Also, thanks to the ongoing issue with my getting an enhanced license, I cannot enter that building anyway, since I don't have the paperwork to be admitted. I am unsure how to get another card if I cannot get into a federal building.

I already had to get another birth certificate. I am just waiting until they start making us get new copies every year or some shit like that.

This constant need to come up with new excuses to get people to throw more money at the government is getting very old.

These tactics are just more BS to keep us divided and confused. We still let them do this, and we still fall for it.
