Swalwell: Republicans planning 'jail break' revolt over Epstein files

Source: msn/The Hill

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) predicted Wednesday that dozens of Republicans may ultimately support legislation requiring the Department of Justice to release files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

“It’s coming to an end guys. I’ve spoken to a lot of House Republicans this week and they’ve confided that Trump’s movement/support is fading. As one told me, ‘this Epstein bomb is about to drop and no [one] wants to defend a pedo-protector. It’s just a matter of time,’” Swalwell said in a thread on the social platform X.

“One Republican just texted me that if there’s a discharge vote on Epstein they expect a ‘jail break’ of over 100 members. Trump will go nuts!” he added.

In recent months, the Trump administration has faced intense pressure from both sides of the aisle over its handling of documents related to Epstein, who committed suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial for alleged sex trafficking.

I love Swalwell, but perhaps he is a being a bit naive and idealistic here.
Which is one of the things I like about him.
He is good to his last bone.

Protect their guy and their colleagues who are also in the files.

No one will defect. He’ll be unhinged, possibly threatening their families and homes with his ragey ketchup flinging.

If they go against the orange lord, he’ll sic his gestapo on them.

Republicans are the Grand Old Pedophiles and they are gonna protect themselves.

The days of protecting the criminal in the White House is coming close to the end.

Eric Swalwell just may be right here. But believe it when it happens.

6. So much is riding on this ... I believe that the majority of Repukes in Congress are done with Chump

It's just their fear of Chump's retaliation that keeps them hanging on. They need to know that Chump will lose power once they 25A him, and that will happen quickly after the Epstein documents are released.

Finally they will see him as the angry, vindictive and deeply flawed windbag that he has been all along.

GOP's walking a rope so tight, their most effective responses are being reduced to "I wasn't aware of that..." My first roller coaster ride when I was nine or ten, I thought "no problem. I can do this" but was throwing up, closing my eyes and praying it would end before we got to the second loop. I'm guessing more than a few republics are feeling that same queasiness today.

11. At this point, can anyone trust these files haven't been tampered with to omit certain information?

I certainly don't. Not with law-breaking Profa's running the DOJ.

the right thing morally, are those in the right wing. They are incapable of honesty and lack courage. Hell they obviously don't even have any self respect left.

I like Eric Swallwell, but he's falling for a con job.
