Pritzker Claims Stephen Miller Is 'Clearly Ordering People to Break the Law' -- Accountability Likely In Three Years

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker (D) made the case to MSNBC’s Jen Psaki on Thursday night that should a Democrat come to power after President Donald Trump, many of Trump’s top officials will likely be “held accountable” for “breaking the law.” Psaki asked Pritzker, “You said on Sunday that you were looking at prosecuting ICE agents who violate the law. What can you tell us about that? What would that look like?”

“Well, we don’t know yet, because let’s start with the fact that the federal agents typically have federal immunity, but they’re not immune from the federal government holding them accountable and responsible. And so typically there are inspectors general, there are senior officials at agencies like ICE and CBP that will suspend somebody who’s been accused or found to have broken the law,” Pritzker replied, adding:

And as they suspend them, investigate it, and then determine whether that person should be punished criminally or otherwise. The problem now, of course, is that Donald Trump has fired many of the inspectors general, or he’s replaced them with political appointees. And so we don’t know that anybody would be held accountable at the federal level.

So we’re looking at all of the options at the local level with county and state’s attorneys, with attorneys general, to go after people when they’re breaking Illinois law, when they’re breaking local law. And we think that they have—you know, when they’re driving through an area, someone’s yelling at them and they decide to simply throw a tear gas canister out of the car as they’re driving through at someone who’s on the side of the road.

But I know so little about him, beyond he obviously detests trump and is strong about standing up for his state and it's people. Illinois residents here? Is the good across the board? I know no politician will please everybody all the time, but how has he been?

Kidnapping people is not within that scope. So arrest them and let the courts sort it out.

On edit, waiting until after the next election for justice is kicking the can down the road; the same stupid we make evert time.

This band of traitors knows they can never accept defeat, they can never surrender power. The whole point of 'taking over' blue states and cities is so they can seize voting machines if they don't like the results of the mid terms. He tried it once before but was stopped. There is no one to stop him this time. You don't build monuments to yourself if you plan on leaving "in 3 years". You think the SC won't allow him to run a third time if he survives until then?

many blue cities/counties have a variety of voting systems. I.e., a lot has been made about the RW purchase of Dominion but not that many actually bought their systems or used them - at least here in PA (if anything, it was some red counties that had them).

for any laws being broken with impunity now by this administration.

Democrats must represent and enforce whenever they can the rule of law, since Republicans have become a criminal organization intent on destroying this country and the lives of the people in it.

There must be accountability, or at least the threat of accountability.

Punishment when the Regime falls. I think he's signaling too - that maybe in a Pritzker Presidency with a Pritzker appointed AG they will go directly against 'not holding Federal employees accountable for their actions'.

We don't have to keep the status quo. That system is broken.

Let's burn it down and build it back better.

… during TSF’s first term. Didn’t amount to much in the end, that time around. Just sayin’… don’t get your hopes too high.
