Trump offers new warning on Tylenol for pregnant women

President Trump on Sunday once again urged pregnant women not to take Tylenol unless absolutely necessary, to avoid giving the over-the-counter drug to children for virtually any reason and to break up certain vaccine dosages. Trumps renewed call comes a month after he and top health officials said pregnant women should not take acetaminophen one of the most widely used medications in the world for pain relief because of a potential risk of autism, despite no new evidence proving the drug directly causes it.
The advice was also notable because acetaminophen had been seen as the safest pain medication for pregnant women to take. But Trump doubled down on his calls with the Sunday post. Pregnant Women, DONT USE TYLENOL UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY, DONT GIVE TYLENOL TO YOUR YOUNG CHILD FOR VIRTUALLY ANY REASON, BREAK UP THE MMR SHOT INTO THREE TOTALLY SEPARATE SHOTS (NOT MIXED!), TAKE CHICKEN P SHOT SEPARATELY, TAKE HEPATITAS B SHOT AT 12 YEARS OLD, OR OLDER, AND, IMPORTANTLY, TAKE VACCINE IN 5 SEPARATE MEDICAL VISITS! President DJT, Trump said in a post on Truth Social that linked to a Daily Caller article claiming the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) stayed silent about potential Tylenol risks.
The president also gave personal suggestions last month on when and how parents should have their children receive certain vaccines, offering advice he said was based on his own feelings. Jim ONeill, the acting director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, has endorsed Trumps call to split the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine, despite no research supporting the change.
Both the World Health Organization and the European Union have refuted Trumps assertion that acetaminophen may cause conditions like autism and ADHD when taken by pregnant women. The FDA acknowledged that a causal relationship has not been established in public statements following Trumps initial plea.

Someone apparently texted him a reminder to blurt out that nonsense, probably after Kenvue didn't send their expected extortion payment.

(111,898 posts)Take medical advice from this clown (or any less ridiculous, yet uneducated leader of this or any other country)?... Yeah sure. Not to mention, single-antigen measles, mumps, and rubella vaccines are not even available and could be for quite some time. Moron, Moron, Moron. Orrex, I pass it back to you!

(1,376 posts)I believe it was called Reyes Syndrome that could be caused by aspirin in children and Teenagers. Didn't Trump or RFK Jr. say to give them aspirin? He won't be happy until he kills someone! As far as vaccinations go, the combination vaccines are much better because you don't have to give as many shots. Less chances for reactions, I think. My mother used to babysit for a little girl whose mother caught measles when she was pregnant with her. She was born with severe brain damage and she was blind. I still remember the people at my church that had polio as children and were disabled for the rest of their lives. A few of them developed post polio syndrome as adults and had to use wheelchairs. Vaccinations are so important, not only for individuals, but to protect everyone around you. Trump and RFK Jr. are sadists!
