Exclusive-Amazon targets as many as 30,000 corporate job cuts, sources say

Source: Reuters via Yahoo Finance

Amazon (AMZN)is planning to cut as many as 30,000 corporate jobs beginning Tuesday, as the company works to pare expenses and compensate for overhiring during the peak demand of the pandemic, according to three people familiar with the matter.

The figure represents a small percentage of Amazon’s 1.55 million total employees, but nearly 10% of the company’s roughly 350,000 corporate employees. This would represent the largest job cut at Amazon since around 27,000 jobs were eliminated starting in late 2022.

An Amazon spokesperson declined to comment.

Amazon has been trimming smaller numbers of jobs over the past two years across multiple divisions, including devices, communications, podcasting and others. The cuts beginning this week may impact a variety of divisions within Amazon, including human resources, known as People Experience and Technology, devices and services and operations, among others, the people said.

Managers of impacted teams were asked to undergo training on Monday for how to communicate with staff following notifications that will start going out via email tomorrow morning, the people said.

There's still lots of vacant office space in the Crystal City/National Harbor area, despite efforts

to convert some of this to hotel and apartment space.

... she's looking pretty smart about that right about now, if anyone is still paying attention to a years-old issue. I bet the billboards are long gone.

go up on Amazon to find the exact item you want.

Then google it..............

Check out others selling the same exact item, often with same free delivery.

I researched a ladder I wanted on Amazon, then googled it. Amazon wanted 125 bucks, the company that manufacturers the ladder sold it to me
for 75 bucks, and free delivery............

I have done this over and over, and most of the time you can get the exact product somewhere else, sometimes from the manufacturer for far less than Amazon wants.........

Amazon has 370,000 corporate employees. This is near 10% of them. And it's almost certain warehouse workers are going to be cut after the Holidays if they're cutting already.

In New York? It was a $3.5 BILLION deal. And Amazon promised to create 25,000 jobs.

And Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called, “Bullshit!!!”
- And the “deal” never materialized.
- The jobs Amazon promised in Arlington Virginia - still waiting
- And now this….

A lot of in-office DEMOCRATS owe her a big apology.

they can't fire the blue collar workers, they have already cut them to the bone and replaced them with AI and robots.

got to find the money someplace.

so now they cut corporate.

they then can show a profit...after also buying back some of their own stock.

then everyone one the board can get their massive holiday bonuses.

``````````````````
I have a friend that worked for them, they got out earlier this year. they saw the writing on the wall. they are now at a much better job.
