The Trump administrations nominee for a top federal position promoting international commerce has withdrawn his candidacy amid scrutiny of his role as a senior executive at a steel-trading business co-owned by one of Russias richest oligarchs, and his relations by marriage to a Russian family with extensive ties to the Kremlin.

(23,298 posts)We all know what would happen to him.  He'd be arrested by the FSB and disappeared.  His family would be interrogated and put under surveillance and on and on. 
But in this weird authoritarian Russian friendly Krasnov era, the guy simply gets turned down for knocking at the same door.
