After a marathon seven-hour negotiation session Saturday night between the WCCUSD and teachers union, a resolution to the strike is expected soon, following three days of picketing and rallies.
United Teachers of Richmond said in a 12:45 a.m. Sunday email that WCCUSD came to bargaining tonight finally understanding that we are committed to making our students the priority.
It said the proposed agreement breaks the cycle of disinvestment in our students and educators and that they will finish negotiating Sunday.
A district email sent at 12:21 a.m. was less specific, saying Saturdays bargaining sessions, including one with the Teamsters, involved an exchange of proposals and that they plan to reconvene as soon as possible.
