President Donald Trump may be plotting a radical purge of top advisers as his administration staggers into the second year of his second stint at the White House. I think we will see some senior advisers in the West Wing leave, CBS News senior White House reporter Jennifer Jacobs told the network Sunday.
Jacobs clarified that Trumps main pack of inner circle advisersChief of Staff Susie Wiles, Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller and Press Secretary Karoline Leavittare likely to remain insulated from any cullbut said she believed other departures may be possible.
As of Sunday, Trump has been back in office for exactly 341 days, with his administration engulfed in near-constant controversies and crises from almost the moment he retook the Oval Office. The president has fueled many of the scandals in his second stint in the White House himself. Still, many of his Cabinet members have also found themselves in the eyes of MAGAs seemingly unending succession of firestorms.
The past eleven months have featured a parade of blunders and controversies, from accidentally adding journalists to government group chats and bungling manhunts for suspected assassins to spearheading politicized prosecutions and overseeing manic redactions to long-awaited investigative documents on one of the most notorious sex trafficking conspiracies in history.

(37,352 posts)Although I could see Noem going back to the gravel pit. Also, Patel meeting with the floor mounted trap door. Lara Loomer is a big maybe.
My only advice is not to try negotiating while standing on plastic sheeting. Stay within walking distance from home and take the call by phone.
Bondi could also face the bus for the simple reason that it would be another reason for the delay of releasing the Epstein files.
At the center of any removal will be the big three misogyny, racism, and perceived lack of fealty.

it's the one place where Trump has shown his limited lucidity, and that's with her -- she keeps him as focused as possible.
Only plus I can say about her, she hates Stephen Miller
I think the other think that endears her her to him, she's Pat Summerall's daughter. And Trump loves sports people.

(3,989 posts)That's his solution. They vet people based on their loyalty and maga appeal. And magas are all just a simple combination of arrogant and stupid. He could replace Kash Patel with Chachi or Kevin Sorbo. The shit is just unreal.

In Chump's first term it didn't take long for him to fire Mike Flynn, James Comey, Reince Priebus, Steve Bannon, Jeff Sessions (pushed out), Rex Tillerson (pushed out), Preet Bharara, and many more. And that was just his FIRST year in office.

Why would any sane person want to work for this guy? It's not like they didn't know.

(4,912 posts)Trump has been told in no uncertain terms that he cant fire the people he has now because they are all he has. The only ones left who are willing to work with him? And that fit the bill in terms of acceptable internal Trump administration metrics.
For example, No one is going to take My Pillow guy on board. There are probably others as well.

(1,172 posts)Theres absolutely no pushback, including from the cabinet because as we know theyre all exceptionally unqualified in their roles. I mean seriously could you have imagined worse cabinet members than Pete Hogshit and puppy killer Noem or a complete moron like Valhalla Patel (lol)?
The major lesson he learned after the first administration was to make sure there were no adults in the room in the first place.
