Iran demands $300bn to end war
Source: The Telegraph
Tehran has demanded $300bn (£235bn) from the US to end the war in Iran and open up the Strait of Hormuz.
However, it will not give up control over the strategic waterway, according to a draft agreement published by Iranian state media.
The text emerged amid expectations that JD Vance, the US vice-president, would fly to Geneva to sign a deal before next week's G7 meeting in the French Alps.
The deal is understood to be a memorandum of understanding effectively a promise to hold further negotiations rather than a finalized peace agreement.

(183,340 posts)trump is going to release to Iran more money than President Obama did
Should a desperate Donald Trump sign off on the latest deal with Iran that led him to call off a major attack late Thursday, he would suffer a "major humiliation" based on leaked details.

That is according to Insider editor Michael Weiss, who appeared on MS NOWs Morning Joe on Friday morning and claimed that the president has come to the realization that he was duped into the whole endeavor.
Pointing out that the president has announced an imminent deal is at hand countless times, co-host Joe Scarborough asked, Why do we keep hearing the same thing over and over and over again when the Iranians have rejected this deal time and again, and hardliners in America have rejected this deal?
Weiss replied, I mean, I just want to read you Iran's Mehr News Agency put out their version of this deal. Now, again, underscore we ... don't know if this is going to be the memorandum of understanding. But in their version of the deal they get $300 billion in reconstruction money, $24 billion in a cash infusion, half of which will come before the negotiations begin.
Remember, this isn't a deal, this is an agreement to keep talking and an extension of a cease-fire. There's nothing new in here, he elaborated. Again, the Iranian version that talks about the missile program or financing or arming terrorist proxies like Lebanese Hezbollah.

(11,620 posts)costs until he unentangles us from this fiasco, the billions to replenish all the weapons we used plus the billions to buy our way out. All because he wanted to be a tough guy and flex his military might. Plus we eat the increased prices for gas and groceries. And yet 1/3 of this country would eat a mile of his shit just to get closer to him.
