Yesterday, International Women’s Day celebrations took place all across the globe, including hundreds of events in America. Fmr. VP Kamala Harris gave this statement about the day: “Let us remember and live the words of my mother, Dr. Shyamala Gopalan Harris: While we may be the first to do many things, we must make sure we are not the last. When we lift up women, we lift up children, families, communities, and all of society.”
And Fmr. President Joe Biden wrote: “International Women's Day is a time to recognize the achievements of women and girls everywhere and recommit our efforts to advance dignity, opportunity, and equality for all. When women and girls succeed, communities, economies, and democracies succeed.”
Sen. Bernie Sanders continued his “Fight Oligarchy” tour this weekend, with stops in Kenosha, WI, and Warren, MI. The event in Wisconsin was packed with more than 4,000 people. And in Michigan, an estimated 10,512 folks showed up. Sanders stated: “The only way we successfully stand up to authoritarianism is when millions of people come together to fight back.”
