Tech billionaire and Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) head Elon Musk's brother, Kimbal Musk, also a businessman, said Tuesday President Donald Trump's top trade advisor Peter Navarro is "truly a moron." "What he says here is demonstrably false,” Musk said in a post on the social platform X while reacting to a video in which Navarro claimed Tesla is seen as a “car manufacturer” but is actually just a “car assembler.”

On Monday, Navarro called Elon Musk a "car assembler," saying that people consider him a car manufacturer — which he is not. “When it comes to tariffs and trade, we all understand in the White House and the American people understand that Elon’s a car manufacturer, but he’s not a car manufacturer. He’s a car assembler in many cases,” Navarro, who is an architect of Trump's controversial policy on tariffs, said on CNBC.

Navarro was trying to clear the air after the DOGE head called him out over Trump's tariff policy over the weekend. Navarro referred to Musk as a "car person," while insisting that he does not have major disagreements with the DOGE head. This clash between Navarro and the Musk brothers came as Trump has imposed a series of sweeping global tariffs, including a 25 percent tariff on imported vehicles.

Kimbal is the DOGE head's younger brother who operates a restaurant chain named The Kitchen, serves on Tesla's board, and has previously held positions as a director at SpaceX and Chipotle.
