'If The US Backpedals On EVs The Auto Industry Is Lost'

"By eliminating a lot of the pro-EV policies enacted by his predecessor Joe Biden, President Trump risks imploding a multi-trillion dollar sector of the U.S. economy. Trump has pushed for an end to all federal EV credits, cut investments in EV charging infrastructure, ordered existing EV infrastructure to be shut down and ripped out, and pushed for less stringent fuel economy regulations. And that's before we even begin talking about Trump's signature policy, import tariffs on the country's most important trade partners, which have already driven significant inflation and pushed the country's economic position into a tailspin. These actions have driven rising consumer anxiety, causing many large corporations to pause investments until they can figure out how they'll be affected. This includes big moves, like General Motors abandoning its stake in a joint battery plant with LG, and other automakers pushing their new plant investment out on longer timelines."

2. If our auto makers ever want to have any future sales outside the US

They need to ignore the Flatulent Franco and continue working in EV and high efficiency cars. The world will move on and nobody outside our borders will ever buy a gas hog.

As it is, the Tangerine Idi Amin is so poisoning the US brand that it will take generations for us to regain sales odd anything US made

We really have to cut the Cancer of the Confederacy in this state and not let it go into hiding like we did during Reconstruction post Civil War. That cancer just metastasized into MAGA and the “Religious/Christian” Right

3. We barely outside of Canada and Mexico sell any cars out side the country now.

And the ones we sell in Canada and Mexico are made there with American manufactures names on them. In 2024 they imported 169 thousand American cars in to Europe. vs 757 thousand imported to the US. So basically Europe imported roughly the same amount of cars from the US as where sold in Connecticut.

4. Blue states need to double down on the plans stopping the sales of ICE vehicles

If the auto manufacturers won't comply with making affordable EV, they can go out of business.

Also need to start hiking State gas taxes as high gas prices is the best way to get consumers to demand them.
