'I Love the Smell of MAGA Tears in the Morning'

"Holy shit, last night...The pundits can call it politics...They’re wrong...It was resurrection with teeth."

"A historic, motherfucking tsunami that tore across the map and peeled the gold foil off Mar-a-Lago like a cheap advent calendar chocolate coin. Democracy didn’t knock. She kicked the door off its hinges, boots muddy, hair wild, eyeliner smeared, and said, 'Miss me, bitches?' "

"You could feel it before the numbers even hit the screen. Group chats were exploding. Phones glowing like lighthouses through the fog. People crying without realizing they were crying. The sound wasn’t cheering. It was exhaling. It was the sound of a country remembering how to breathe. For the first time in a year, the air didn’t taste like fear. It tasted like finally."

"Last night wasn’t just a blue wave...It was a rebirth through fucking fire. A scream that found its voice again and refused to shut the hell up. It was fury turned into motion, heartbreak weaponized into purpose, exhaustion baptized into something unbreakable. It was democracy waking up hungover, bloodied, eyeliner-smudged, and saying, “Not today, Satan. Not fucking today.”

"Mikie Sherrill said it best: 'Hope has two beautiful daughters — anger and courage'...And last night, those girls showed up in leather jackets, one packing brass knuckles, the other swinging a battle-axe. Anger because we’ve had enough. Courage because we’re not backing down. Hope didn’t just come back. She barged in, cleaned the damn cat litter, and told us to pack our shit because we’re leaving this place better than we found it."

from nonfiction to literary fiction to medical-legal thrillers — I truly appreciate those with the gift of creating word architecture that forms combinations to magically shape strong images, descriptions, and dangling participles, all I can do is quote the NYC mayor-elect, Zohran Mamdani: “Turn the volume up!”

Brilliant!!!

But today? Today I want eye contact. The real kind. I want to walk into that same grocery store like I own the goddamn produce section, chin up, cart loud, soul louder. I’m squeezing every melon, avocado, and lime I can find just to make a point. Hell, I might squeeze a few potatoes out of spite. I’m setting up residence in the soup aisle and calling it liberation. Cry harder, MAGA. Cry fucking harder. Don’t mind me. I’ll be over here filling my cup with your tears.

Thanks for turning me on to her! Such a fresh, bright, no-nonsense voice, and just the kind of energy we need right now!

The media had me anxious that she might lose to Trenton Tr**p Shitarelli.

The kicked his ass by 13 points.

I voted for her in the primaries, and was pleased that she made a point of stating in her victory speech that when she entered the Naval Academy at the age of 18 she swore an oath to uphold the Constitution.

Unlike the corrupt bastards on the polticized bastards on the Supreme Court, she took that oath seriously.

Their back-and-forth banter on politics and other subjects is quite entertaining.

was the voters refusing Trump and the GOP's corruption and lies. We saw an affirmation of the principles of Democracy, write large. The voters want honesty, integrity, and human dignity. As Lincoln put it "government of the people, by the people, for the people.

acknowledge that it was a blowout for the liberals, and proof that there is a huge groundswell of support for the Democratic Party. Also seeing lots of stories of lifelong Republicans voting for the Democratic candidates. That is huge. I kept hearing the MAGAts would never abandon Trump, but many conservatives have totally repudiated him with their votes.

They just try to convince the Dems and liberals to not bother voting, since it wasn't going to make any difference anyway. Well piss on that, we all came out and voted our little hearts out. It's the Repukes and Maga-cult who didn't bother. And boy what a difference from last year!
