So Much for that MAGA Mandate

For a year, Trump and MAGA have been gloating about an imagined mandate. They told us their “massive landslide” meant they could govern without restraint. It’s been demoralizing for anyone who’s actually listened to what Donald Trump promised to do in his second term.

But Tuesday night was a refreshing reminder that Americans don’t like where he’s taking us. After nine months of Republican control in Washington, most Americans are dumbfounded, angry, and ready for a change.

We’re headed for a historic, though now predictable, midterm wipeout for Republicans — and likely many more tantrums from the President along the way.

Republicans lost because of Donald Trump and the economy. This is uncomplicated and should give Democrats a clear roadmap for 2026.

Trump won PA; but about 70% just voted to give THREE DEMOCRATS 10 more years on the State Supreme Court.
And Red Kansas voted "NO" to redistrict away the one Dem seat

punish the libs/the gays/the trans...punish the poor/the disabled/blacks/latinos/muslims/immigrants...as long as he was destroying his enemies, and by osmosis their enemies...yay Trump!..until the tariffs, the ICE raids, and no one is buying their beef...and they're losing their jobs/insurance/healthcare and they can barely feed their families ...and suddenly they wake up to the fact their guy has fucked them over...they've been owned!...BOO-fucking-HOO!!!

now they're really pissed...this isn't what they voted for (except this is exactly what they voted for)...and as per usual when their shit gets really bad Republicans do what they've done for decades...they vote Democrat, trusting the Democrats to clean up the sewer their guy has created...

I think most decent people cannot stand the fascism that has taken over GOP and the cruelty that goes along with it. WE WANT OUR COUNTRY BACK.

5. In the years when we succeed, it's often the independent voters who make the difference

I know that's true in Pennsylvania, and it's probably true in a lot of other states as well.

In PA our voter registrations vary year by year, but they're always close to 50% Dem and 50% R. But the biggest slice is always the unregistered, non-affiliated voters who can swing any election either way. That's one of the reasons why we're a swing state. When the independent voters are motivated to help us out, like this year, it makes a big difference. When they don't give a shit, or when they don't care for our candidates they stay home and tune out. Or even worse, they go to the polls and vote R, like we saw last year.

Getting those damned independent voters engaged and making them care about our issues - that seems to be the biggest factor. The "No Kings" rallies got a lot of attention this year, as one example. We need to be smarter about how we reach out to independents and keep them engaged. We have likable candidates I believe, but the messages are sometimes a little confusing or garbled. We can't afford to blow another election. Let's keep moving forward, full steam ahead. Let's keep our eyes on the prize. It's going to mean everything next year and in 2028.
