For those of us who have de-centered men and taught our girls to do the same, this moment felt like living proof that we must take back our power. We must live in a place where these insults are nothing more than words from a feeble man whose narcissistic cycle of madness has finally come home to roost. He is spiraling, unwell, and a soulless motherfucker of the lowest order. And he sits in a position he is unqualified and unfit to fill.
Tell me that isn’t the same story we’ve been living with every day of our lives?
His supporters can’t understand why people like me have hated him from the very first day he popped his head up into the political world (by mocking a disabled reporter, by the way). People like me have burned relationships without blinking an eye and pissed off our entire communities of hometown enablers. I’ve avoided Trump supporters in my life because they said his words aren’t a problem. YOU just are too uptight.
Don’t change the rules, just sit back and let men degrade you. If you laugh it off, they’ll still love you and approve of you and allow you a little drop of power.
