We do not know precisely what Russian despot Vladimir Putin has on Donald Trump — though recent revelations that Jeffrey Epstein claimed to have routinely provided a former Russian ambassador with dirt on Trump may offer a hint.
We do not know what Trump and Putin discussed in the ten minutes they spent alone in the presidential limousine during their summit in Alaska this summer — though we can guess that it is nothing Trump would want the American people to know, since there were no witnesses aside from their security details.
But whatever it is that Putin has on Trump — whether kompromat or just the admiration of an aspiring autocrat for a mentor — the bill has now come due. The “peace plan” that Trump has cooked up with the Kremlin to end the Ukraine war is worse than anyone could have imagined.
It stabs Ukraine in the back, gives Putin everything his military has been unable to win on the battlefield and ensures that dictators the world over understand that the United States has now switched sides.
