Hamas Killed His Friend, But Knesset Member Cassif Says End the Occupation Now

We speak to Ofer Cassif, member of the Israeli Knesset’s left-wing Hadash-Ta’al coalition, about Hamas’s surprise attack and Israel’s response. Cassif condemns the violence and killing of civilians “on both sides,” adding that both “Israelis and Palestinians pay the price of the arrogant, criminal, ongoing occupation that Israel refuses to end.” He then calls for an immediate end to occupation and of Israel’s “fascist subjugation” of Palestinians, an act which he says will “also liberate the Israelis.”

Since the west bank didn't belong to the Palestinians in 1967, They should return the West Bank from whom they took it, Jordan. And the Gaza Strip to Egypt. At the end of WW2, the Ottoman Empire lands were partitioned, part became Israel and the other part ceded to Jordan.

The message sent by Israel would be, "We'll do as we wish until you hit us with massive terrorist attacks, then we'll do as you wish."

The time to end mistreatment of Palestinians was before the attacks. Now the two undesirable choices are to knuckle under to the terrorists or retaliate massively. It's a lose-lose.

'Twas ever thus. The time to forestall the rise of a militant anti-American Islamist regime in Iran was before the U.S. installed the Shah and supported him as he cruelly oppressed his people. The time to forestall a Communist dictatorship in Cuba was before the oligarchs and the Mafia ran the country for their own benefit. And so on.
