So many questions.
debm55
(60,656 posts)when your looking for that terrific sandwich, what do you have?
Well, I liked your added things. I rarely eat sandwiches so I think it would depend on the main ingredient and what "goes with" it in a sandwich.

(9,056 posts)for me. I love a breaded pork cutlet on a roll with ketchup or pork gravy. That ties with braunschweiger (liver sausage) spread on seeded rye with raw onions. They both tie with a fresh Polish sausage (mustard seed inside) on a Kaiser bun with ketchup and raw onions. A good Philly beef-steak is close to being in the mix as well as a sandwich on Amish white bread with sharp Lebanon Bologna, provolone cheese, raw onions and mustard.

(8,907 posts)as I understand it that restaurants (here anyway) are not required to disclose it.
I only get them at restaurants.
So, I can't really tell any differences at this point if it is the tank salmon.
I guess when I get it I could ask the server, see if anyone in the place knows.
I guess tank salmon from the Muncie operation is GMO and all the salmon are females. Have to see how it plays out. There were some concerns in a few articles here. But that was more with the wastewater from the operations as it does get discharged to the local sewage treatment up there.
As I understand it if it is sold in store/grocery it has to be labelled as GMO.

was a working mom. In the interest of efficiency and decreasing morning chaos, we would make 5 days worth of sandwiches every Sunday evening and freeze them. Pop one in the lunchbox in the morning and they would thaw by lunch time.
Egg salad on white bread does NOT freeze or thaw well - makes a big soggy mess. To this day, I cannot eat an egg salad sandwich.

White, or pumpernickle bread either extra sharp cheddar, or swiss, a touch of mayo, a bit of garlic powder, thin sliced tomatoes.
For cold:
Love provolone 💗 cheese so - Italian bread, or kaiser roll, mayo, garlic powder, sliced tomatoes, romaine lettuce.
ETA:
I can't believe I didn't think of a hamburger on a bun as a sandwich! 😄😄
Definitely well done hamburger on a bun, salt & pepper, with mayo, thin raw red onion slices, tomato slice(s), romaine lettuce!
And TBLT would be my favorite mixed (hot/cold) sandwich.

(6,918 posts)It's tuna but I treat it like smoked salmon by using a Parisian baguette and spreading top and bottom
with a total of 8oz of cream cheese...Everyone I've ever fixed it for loved it.
The other ingredients are:
5 cans of 5.5oz tuna (Market Basket sells the best canned tuna on the market!)
1 large onion diced In tuna mix
~1/2 qt Hellmans Mayonnaise (mix)
Juice of 1 lime (mix)
2 Tbsp Oregano (mix)
4 cloves of garlic minced (mix)
2 Tomatoes (heirloom or hydroponic) sliced
1 Pkg Jonathan's alfalfa sprouts
2 Tbsp B&G Sandwich Toppers (Italian hot peppers about the same heat as a jalapeno)
Here's a shot of 1/3 of the sub

debm55
(60,656 posts)justaprogressive
(6,918 posts)So just in terms of fixing it.. I make a log shape on the bottom half with the tuna mix,
and make a channel for the hot peppers along the top of the tuna log....
The bread type is REALLY important. Regular sub bead will make it a 6 of 10
a baguette (flaky crust, super soft melt-in-your-mouth interior) brings it to a 9+

The BLT on white bread toast, a good mayo (helman's or duke's and a lot of it) a thick slice of either vineripe heirloom or beefsteak tomato and bacon that is crisp. And a sprinkling of freshly ground black pepper on the tomato.
