weeks ago. Over a period of three days he would stand at the window snarling and sometimes barking. I did everything I could think of to see what he was seeing--got down exactly to his level, looked in the same direction. I studied his eyes to make sure he was staring ahead.

Finally about three days in I noticed there was a plastic bag trapped under my neighbor's fence, and when the wind would blow a particular way, the bag was inflating and undulating. He was reacting to that weird appearing animal. I removed it because it was stressing him, but it was a positive sign for him (at approximately 11/12 years old he's got some health issues) to bark--and the bark was nice, clear, powerful. It had been a while since I'd heard him bark and I was relieved he could still bark with a certain amount of style. Good boy!

shocked to see a deer in the fenced in yard. I walked closer to it and it leaped over the fence. and down the street.
