The DU Lounge

One of the most important needs I have in my life is to seek and see beauty wherever she may show herself to me.
It is with that necessity that I have found so many Angels here at DU. What I find so remarkable is that everyone walked into this cafe of knowledge, wisdom and love under their own power.
That decision, made by so many thousands of you continues to Rock my World is so many ways. One of the great dilemmas of isolation is the willful/necessary decisions that I have made over the decades to deprive of my favorite three letter words in the English language; AWE.
Montauk6 gave me my latest dose that allows me to yet again, dare to see more, hope more and yes, to try to be more.
With words that danced eloquently on the page, Montauk6 showed me in yet another amazingly unique way that all of our journeys are gifts in and of themselves. But to dare to challenge your ideals again and again, to hold yourself to a standard that requires it and then to so visibly celebrate finding a light, a truth, a new direction is such a beautiful form of self expression and self discovery that I can only gape slack jawed in Awe.
Thank you Montauk6 and thanks to all of you that feed and nourish my soul in such a beautiful soulful way.
Love, John

(17,280 posts)Woke up this morning. Weather app said "drizzle"
So this is what I found at the front door.
Well, it helps to have a great vista from a ridge in the Sierra Foothills.
Yesterday, I was snapping flower photos in the sunshine.
And maybe later today, as well.
Never a dull moment,

(2,050 posts)It really is remarkable how the the exact same point of view can create such a total transformation that creates its own awe experience. I wish there was a way to capture that purplish hue that embraces the Rockies most evenings that held me rapt for the 5 years that I lived near Breckenridge, CO.

(17,280 posts)You can enjoy the Yosemite webcams from everywhere!
I love to visit those webcams all the time.
Find them at https://yosemite.org
Yosemite Conservancy.
The above is a snapshot, because the live cameras go dark at night.
And then, you can see stars on a clear night with the El Capitan camera!
