Please share a line or lines from a movie or TV show that impressed you.

Maybe with wisdom, love or humor.

Mine:

Our revenge is to live.
We are not thieves or murderers.
We may be hunted like animals, but we will not become animals.
We have all chosen this, to live here free like human beings, for as long as we can.
Every day of freedom is like an act of faith.
And if we should die, trying to live, then at least we die like human beings.

Daniel Craig as Tuvia Bielski in Defiance.
Jewish brothers in German-occupied Eastern Europe escape into a Belorussian forest, where they join Russian resistance fighters, and endeavor to build a village, in order to protect themselves and about one thousand Jewish non-combatants.

That line changed the way I see things, like history, or the people that make it.

I did not see that movie when it first came out, but finally saw it on TV some 20 years later. I nearly fell off the couch, because that was such a profound and true statement.

It still is. It always has been. And no matter where you are on the political spectrum, it is, was, always has been, and always will be, true. Oh, and the movie is "Hud", an amazing and excellent movie. Well worth seeing. The novel is even better.

Many years later in Brittany he realized they had only been seagulls... for me they will always be glorious birds."

For once, Kirk isn't trying the seduce the pretty female. Instead, he reminds her -- and us-- of what we all share.

KIRK: Give me your hand. Your hand. (she does) Now feel that. Human flesh against human flesh. We're the same. We share the same history, the same heritage, the same lives. We're tied together beyond any untying. Man or woman, it makes no difference. We're human. We couldn't escape from each other even if we wanted to. That's how you do it, Lieutenant. By remembering who and what you are. A bit of flesh and blood afloat in a universe without end. The only thing that's truly yours is the rest of humanity.
