I eat two fruits at breakfast. We also eat crudite with dinners on some nights, cooked veggies on all other nights.
We are both 85 years old. I'll be perfect right before I die!

I hate to waste and prices keep increasing, so, fresh produce is something I buy carefully to make sure it all gets eaten. Fortunately, though there are a lot of ways to get those benefits and yes, frozen veggies are very close to fresh in benefits.
So, is 85 the new 45? I think so! LOL

(4,916 posts)I seriously doubt it, tho.
I need to keep track for a week and see. I suspect I need to add things. Example: I eat the same things day after day. Strawberries at Breakfast & Cucumbers at Lunch & Grapes at Supper,,,, I'm thinking I'll need to add. I don't necessarily want to add years to my life but I want quality.

(10,517 posts)My main plant squeeze is coffee, my second main plant squeeze is earl grey tea.
My third favorite plant is cacao (cocoa).
The only fruit I like is fresh pineapple and maybe a fresh pear on occasion. I hate bananas. Seriously.
My list of approved veggie plants are: lettuce, fresh spinach, fresh mushrooms, green, red and yellow bell peppers, garlic, fresh green beans, fresh broccoli, and fresh cauliflower. I also include tomatoes in the veggie selections but I think it's weird that it counts as a fruit. *Fresh means not canned or frozen.
I do like celery in my chicken salad but stopped buying it because it goes bad before I get a chance to use it all. I like pickles much better than a regular cucumber. Apparently I'm a colossal fan of brine! I'll drink the juice from the pickle jar after the pickles magically disappear.
I generally like all nuts if that counts as "plants".
