So much information was suppressed. Everyone wanted to forget the War, people, governments, media, military included. Nazi Germany was raided by east and west for resources, particularly technology and brainpower even before the war eneded. It was only in the 1960s that the financial complicity of some western corporations was revealed in history books. By the 1980s, more about the holocaust of course, and the role of banking. The Clinton Administration, and Senator Alphonse D'Amato (R) New York, pushed for revelations of Swiss Bank complicity and reclamation of looted funds. Over the next 20 years independent journalists began to catch up with a long list of revelations of military operations, secret weaponry, life inside Nazi Germany.

Governments hide their dirty secrets to remain popular. Or maybe they might have to use such hidden tactics again.
