Did you know there's a Cardinal Pizzaballa? And he's a possible frontrunner to be the next Pope! 🍕

Pierbattista Pizzaballa

Pierbattista Pizzaballa OFM (born 21 April 1965) is an Italian Catholic prelate who has served as Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem since 6 November 2020. A Franciscan friar, he served as Custos of the Holy Land from 2004 to 2016 and as Apostolic Administrator of the Latin Patriarchate from 2016 to 2020. He was made a cardinal by Pope Francis in 2023. He is considered a possible front-runner for the papacy at the 2025 papal conclave following the death of Pope Francis.

I hope he doesn't change his name if he gets picked. "Pope Pizzaballa" has an awesome ring to it!

If Frances picked him, he may be okay; I always thought Ratzinger should have kept his name... hlthe2b Yesterday #3

in its depiction of the election process. Whether the same sorts of political machinations take place IRL is unknown, but likely.
